Speaking during the visit, Dr. Zahraddeen expressed satisfaction with the successful execution of the project, saying the intervention had significantly strengthened the hospital’s capacity to provide uninterrupted and efficient healthcare services.

She attributed the achievement to the support of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, whom she commended for prioritising the health sector through increased funding and attention.

According to her, the governor’s support for strategic reforms initiated by health sector leaders has created an enabling environment for impactful interventions across health facilities in the state.

Dr. Zahraddeen also praised the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, for what she described as his visionary leadership and commitment to reforms aimed at repositioning the state’s healthcare system.

She reaffirmed KHETFUND’s commitment to accountability and value for public funds through regular monitoring and post-funding verification exercises, noting that such assessments ensure projects are executed according to approved specifications and deliver the intended benefits to healthcare facilities and residents.

The management of Kiru General Hospital expressed appreciation to KHETFUND and the Kano State Government for the intervention, describing the solar power installation as a critical investment that has improved hospital operations by providing reliable electricity for essential medical equipment and enhancing patient care.

KHETFUND said the verification exercise forms part of its broader strategy to monitor the performance, sustainability, and impact of healthcare projects funded across Kano State while promoting transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in healthcare service delivery.
