The managements of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), have resolved to deepen collaboration between the two agencies.

This was the discussion when the General Manager, (Transmission), TCN Kano Region, M.K Bello, received the Managing Director of NISO, Abdu Muhammed Bello, as part of efforts to drive the power sector to achieve results.

Bello, while commending the NISO chief for his unwavering support and partnership, said NISO has consistently demonstrated its commitment by responding promptly and providing the necessary cooperation to TCN for assistance or operational support whenever the need arises.

He assured NISO of TCN Kano Region’s readiness to sustain the existing partnership and provide the necessary operational support that would ensure that the objectives of the electricity market reform are achieved while he also emphasised the cordial relationship that exists between NISO and TCN.

The NISO MD, in his remarks, thanked the region’s management team for the formal handover of the former TCN Regional Office to NISO, describing it as a significant milestone and a clear demonstration of the cordial and mutually beneficial relationship between both companies.

He however restated NISO’s commitment to sustaining close collaboration with TCN in the collective pursuit of a stable, reliable, and efficient national electricity grid.

According to him, seamless coordination between system operations and transmission infrastructure is critical to grid security and stability adding that continued cooperation remains essential to improving power system operations and enhancing electricity service delivery nationwide.
