What began as a steady digital experiment has now become a defining success story for Nollywood actor and producer Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele, as he celebrates receiving the YouTube Gold Creator Award after surpassing one million subscribers on his channel.

The milestone marks a major achievement for the filmmaker's growing digital footprint, with his content platform, IteleD Icon Studio, evolving into one of the most recognised Nollywood-driven YouTube spaces in recent years.

Sharing photos of the award plaque, Itele described the moment as more than just personal success, but a reflection of consistency, discipline, and audience loyalty that carried him through the journey.

"From zero to 1 million subscribers. The YouTube Gold Creator Award is finally home-a symbol of dedication, consistency, and the incredible community that stood by me every step of the way," he said.

He went further to appreciate his fans, subscribers, and supporters, noting that the achievement belongs as much to them as it does to him. "To every subscriber, viewer, supporter, and believer in ITELEDICON STUDIO's vision, thank you for being part of this remarkable journey," he added.

Itele also expressed gratitude to YouTube for recognising his growth on the platform, stressing that the milestone is not an endpoint but the beginning of a bigger creative chapter. "This milestone is not the destination; it's the beginning of an even greater chapter. We rise together," he wrote.

He also made headlines earlier in the year after gifting himself two luxury cars ahead of his birthday, describing the gesture as a celebration of humility, hard work, and divine grace.

Itele's online dominance further strengthened when his hit film Koleoso surpassed 100 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most streamed Nollywood titles on the platform and cementing his reputation as a digital-era box office force.

Following the record-breaking achievement, he proudly noted that the project's success reflected years of resilience, saying his journey from being overlooked to becoming widely celebrated was proof that persistence pays off.

He was also ranked among Nigeria's Top 10 YouTube creators, a recognition he dedicated to his audience, thanking them for their "love, support, and belief in the vision," while celebrating the growing impact of Nollywood on global streaming platforms.

Reflecting on his past, Itele has often spoken about his struggles before fame, including moments when he almost gave up on life, and how he once sold jewellery in Bauchi village while chasing his dreams.

He also credited industry figures such as Femi Adebayo and Papa T for supporting him during his early journey, describing his rise from Agbado Crossing as proof that background does not define destiny, but belief and persistence do.
