The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dare Bejide, suffered a defeat in his polling unit as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji, secured a commanding victory in the results announced from Ilawe-Ekiti Ward II, Polling Unit 004.

According to the official results declared at the polling unit on Saturday, Oyebanji polled 140 votes to emerge the clear winner, while Bejide garnered 37 votes in his home unit.
