Military apprehends suspected terrorist in Kaduna hospital
A suspected terrorist was arrested in Kaduna while seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

Troops from the Joint Task Force, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have successfully apprehended a suspected terrorist, Auta Maikyala, at a hospital in the Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The arrest took place on November 5, 2026, as Maikyala sought medical treatment for a gunshot wound he sustained during a confrontation with a rival faction.
Captain Tamuno Sinivie, the Acting Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force (North West), announced the arrest in a statement released on November 6. The operation was intelligence-led and involved collaboration with operatives from the Department of State Services.
The statement detailed that Maikyala is believed to be a notorious criminal linked to multiple attacks on local communities, as well as incidents of kidnapping and cattle rustling. Following his arrest, he has been taken into custody for further investigation and potential prosecution.
In addition to the arrest in Kaduna, the military conducted separate operations in Zamfara State on the same day. Troops executed clearance operations in the villages of Aljummu Hausa, Aljummu Fulani, and Tunga Magaji in Maradun Local Government Area. These operations aimed to dismantle terrorist hideouts and improve security for residents in the affected areas.
The Nigerian Air Force also played a crucial role, conducting air interdiction operations against locations associated with the wanted terrorist leader, Dogo Gide, in the Babban Doka and Kuyumbana Forest regions of Maru Local Government Area. These actions were prompted by credible intelligence indicating that terrorists were gathering in these areas to strategize and coordinate criminal activities.
The Joint Task Force has reiterated its commitment to maintaining operational dominance in the region, encouraging the public to provide timely and credible information regarding suspected terrorist activities. The ongoing Operation FANSAN YAMMA is designed to protect lives and property across the Joint Operations Area, with military officials emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in achieving security objectives.
