Lee Group of Companies Ltd is set to unveil a massive $1.8 billion industrial park along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, which aims to host more than 29 manufacturing factories. This ambitious project is expected to create over 2,500 direct and indirect jobs, reinforcing Ogun State's status as a key industrial hub in Nigeria.

The 450-hectare First Industrial Park will be strategically located within the Sagamu and Obafemi-Owode local government areas. It is designed to cater to a variety of manufacturing sectors, including soap and detergent production, PVC leather manufacturing, footwear production, mould manufacturing, food processing, cosmetics, recycling, and export-oriented industries.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, is scheduled to perform the groundbreaking ceremony on November 12, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the project. The ceremony is expected to attract notable figures, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Minister of Trade and Investment, and various stakeholders from the business and diplomatic communities.

The industrial park is anticipated to draw substantial domestic and foreign investments, which will not only enhance Nigeria’s manufacturing capacity but also create a wealth of employment opportunities. This development is poised to solidify Ogun State’s growing reputation as a preferred destination for industrial growth.

Among the businesses linked to the park is Aspira Products Stand, a subsidiary of Lee Group, recognized as the largest detergent company by market share in West Africa. The company plans to establish its regional office within the industrial park, which is expected to enhance its commercial significance and position the park as a potential hub for manufacturing and distribution across West Africa.

The overall development is projected to have a gross value of $3 billion, highlighting the extensive scale of the proposed industrial ecosystem and its potential to stimulate economic activities in Ogun State and beyond. The park will not only feature manufacturing facilities but also administrative offices, residential areas, power and utility stations, banks, shopping malls, showrooms, bonded warehouses, and recreational facilities.

The park’s advantageous location along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, particularly near the Sagamu Interchange, will provide businesses with easy access to major markets and transportation networks. This strategic positioning is expected to facilitate the efficient movement of raw materials and finished products, thereby improving distribution channels across Nigeria.

Furthermore, the project is likely to invigorate economic activities in Sagamu, Obafemi-Owode, and surrounding communities by increasing demand for transportation, freight services, accommodation, restaurants, and other supporting businesses. With the establishment of over 29 manufacturing factories, the park is anticipated to create numerous job opportunities for skilled and unskilled workers, particularly benefiting young people and women. The concentration of various manufacturing companies within a single industrial development will also open avenues for small and medium-sized enterprises to supply goods and services to the businesses operating in the park.
