Nottingham Forest's manager, Oliver Glasner, has cast doubt on his future at the club after their recent 2-0 defeat to Brentford, which leaves the team perilously close to the relegation zone in the Premier League. The loss on Saturday marks a troubling trend for Forest, as they currently sit 19th in the league, just one point above the bottom position.

Following the match, Glasner acknowledged the need for significant changes within the team. He stated that he has made too many compromises during his tenure and emphasized the importance of establishing a clear direction for the club moving forward. "It’s now time not to make compromises, it’s now time to show a clear way and everybody has to follow. And if they don’t want to follow, then I guess then the sixth manager will come in," he remarked during an interview with BBC Sport.

The defeat against Brentford was particularly disheartening for Forest, as the hosts had been struggling, having not won in their previous four matches. Forest's performance was marked by a lack of attacking prowess, managing only one shot on target throughout the game. The opening goal came from an unfortunate own goal by Nikola Milenkovic, followed by a second goal from Brentford's Igor Thiago in the 76th minute.

Glasner pointed to defensive errors and a failure to convert chances as key issues contributing to the team's poor performance. "We are making too many mistakes, the defence, then we are down. We controlled the game," he noted, highlighting the need for improvement in both defense and attack.

With Forest having lost four of their last five league matches, the pressure is mounting on Glasner as they prepare to face league leaders Manchester City next weekend. The upcoming match is crucial for the team, as another poor performance could lead to serious questions about Glasner's position and the future direction of the club.

As Nottingham Forest navigates this challenging period, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see if Glasner can implement the necessary changes to turn the team's fortunes around before it’s too late.
