A violent incident unfolded in Ribah, a community within the Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, on October 30, 2026, as suspected bandits launched two attacks on the area. The Kebbi State Police Command confirmed that security forces successfully repelled the attackers during the assaults, which began around 7:25 PM.

According to a police spokesperson, the initial attack targeted Rambo Junction on the Ribah–Dirin Daji Road. The assailants attempted to block the road, but their plans were thwarted by a coordinated response from the police, military, and local vigilante groups. Engaging in a fierce gun battle, the joint security forces managed to disperse the bandits, preventing them from executing their intended assault.

Despite the initial setback, the bandits regrouped and returned to the community, opening fire from multiple directions. Tragically, during this second wave of violence, a 47-year-old security guard named Hassan Boder was fatally wounded by gunfire while stationed at a newly constructed filling station along the Ribah–Kanya Road.

In response to the escalating situation, the security forces rapidly mobilized to the area upon receiving a distress call. Their swift action led to another confrontation with the assailants, who were ultimately repelled once again. The police have since ramped up security measures, implementing aggressive patrols to maintain a strong presence in the community and prevent any further attacks.

The police spokesperson emphasized the effectiveness of the joint forces, stating, "Yes, we are aware of the attack and we have repelled it by forcing the terrorists to retreat due to superior firepower. The combined security forces have dominated the area to prevent further attacks on the communities."
