The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has apprehended a tiler named Samuel Net in connection with the death of a hotel worker in Abuja. The arrest follows an incident that occurred on October 20, 2026, at a hotel located in the Utako District.

According to a statement from the police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the Utako Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call in the early hours of that Tuesday. Officers were dispatched to the hotel, where they discovered Net with visible injuries. They also found Joseph Terdoo, a hotel employee, unconscious on the floor, also showing signs of violence.

Preliminary investigations indicated that a disagreement between Net and Terdoo escalated into a physical altercation. Reports suggest that during the confrontation, Net pushed Terdoo, causing him to fall and strike his head against a wooden object. Terdoo was rushed to Wuse District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The police have urged the public to avoid violent confrontations and to seek peaceful resolutions during disputes. FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, emphasized the importance of diplomacy in resolving conflicts and encouraged residents to report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.

This incident raises concerns about safety and conflict resolution in public spaces, prompting authorities to remind citizens of the need for peaceful dialogue in times of disagreement. The police have also provided emergency contact numbers for residents to report any suspicious behavior or emergencies promptly.
