Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has publicly addressed her supporters amid a federal investigation into alleged immigration fraud. In a video message, Omar expressed gratitude for the donations she has received and appealed for further financial support as she navigates what she described as a 'challenging time.'

The Minnesota representative, who is currently under scrutiny by federal authorities, thanked her supporters for contributions of various amounts, stating, 'that goes a long way as we fight Trump and his administration for trying to intimidate me and so many people right before the midterm elections.'

Omar, who represents Minnesota's 5th Congressional District, is at the center of an investigation that focuses on her family's immigration history. The inquiry reportedly examines whether she or her late father provided false information on immigration documents when they arrived in the United States as refugees from Somalia in 1995, as well as during her naturalization process in 2000.

Federal agents conducted a search of Omar's Washington, D.C., home as part of the investigation, which is being led by Homeland Security Investigations, an arm of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The search warrant cited potential offenses including conspiracy, immigration fraud, and making false statements on immigration paperwork.

In her video, Omar asserted her determination not to be intimidated or silenced, stating, 'We're not going to be scared.' She emphasized her commitment to campaigning vigorously in the upcoming midterm elections, aiming to secure victories for her party.

The investigation has also reignited discussions surrounding Omar's previous marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, which some critics have alleged involved her brother. Omar has consistently denied these claims, and no evidence has been presented to substantiate the allegations.

As the investigation continues, Omar has characterized the federal actions as an abuse of power, maintaining her innocence in the face of the allegations. She concluded her video by urging her supporters to continue their financial backing, highlighting the costly nature of her current challenges.
