Kwara Attorney-General Ibrahim Sulyman elevated to Senior Advocate of Nigeria
Ibrahim Sulyman's elevation to SAN celebrated by family as a tribute to their late father.

Ibrahim Sulyman, the Attorney-General of Kwara State, has been officially conferred the title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) during a ceremony marking the commencement of the 2026/2027 legal year. The event took place on Monday, with Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, presiding over the swearing-in of 68 legal practitioners, including 67 advocates and one academic, Professor Nnamdi Obiaraeri.
The elevation of Sulyman and his fellow appointees was approved by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee at its 174th plenary session held in Abuja back in July. This recognition highlights the significant achievements of legal professionals in the country and underscores the importance of excellence in the legal field.
Eniola Sulyman-Yusuf, Sulyman's elder sister, took to social media to express her pride and joy over her brother's achievement. In an emotional post, she reflected on the timing of the conferment, which coincided with the seven-month anniversary of their father's passing. Eniola shared her sentiments on X, stating, "Alhamdulillah, exactly seven months today since my dad passed, my younger brother Senior Ibrahim Sulyman was conferred Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). A beautiful, emotional and fulfilling win, Alhamdulillah."
She further emphasized the significance of the moment, noting that their father, who was also a lawyer, would have been immensely proud of his son's accomplishment. Eniola remarked, "My dad would have been so proud to see the legal baton he passed on soaring high. I wish he stayed to witness this day, and even many months more to watch his 1st grandchild get called to the Nigerian bar soon."
The family shared a poignant photo capturing the moment, with Eniola surrounded by her siblings, all of whom are legal practitioners. This image served as a testament to their father's legacy, as he successfully raised three children who have pursued careers in law.
Ibrahim Sulyman has been serving as the Kwara Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice since May 11, 2022. Prior to this role, he held the position of Commissioner for Tertiary Education in the state. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2008, and his recent elevation to SAN marks a significant milestone in his legal career, further enhancing his contributions to the legal landscape in Nigeria.
