China expresses concern over Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia, urges dialogue
Following deadly Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, China calls for peace and stability in the region.

China has voiced strong condemnation of the recent Houthi attacks targeting Saudi airports and energy infrastructure, expressing serious concern over the escalating conflict between the Yemeni group and Riyadh. In a statement made during a regular briefing, foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating, "China condemns the attacks that caused heavy casualties and expresses serious concern over the intensification of the conflict."
The Houthi assaults have intensified, with a recent strike on Riyadh's international airport resulting in one fatality and 11 injuries. This attack occurred just a day after another deadly incident that led to the suspension of operations at the airport. The recent surge in violence marks a significant escalation in the ongoing Yemen war, where Saudi Arabia has been actively supporting the internationally recognized government against the Houthi rebels.
Mao Ning urged all parties involved to refrain from actions that could further escalate regional tensions. She emphasized the need for dialogue and negotiation to resolve differences and disputes, aiming for peace and stability in the region as soon as possible.
Reports indicate that the Houthi forces have increasingly targeted Riyadh's airport, with three fatalities also reported from an attack earlier in the week. The escalating violence has raised alarms within the international community, with China calling for immediate measures to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
In a separate report, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed that 12 individuals lost their lives and 309 were injured in the recent attack on King Khalid International Airport, marking the third assault on the facility within a week. The fatalities included a diverse group of nationalities, with victims from Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan.
As tensions rise, the international community watches closely, hoping for a resolution that will bring an end to the violence and restore stability in the region.
