Gunmen have kidnapped three employees of the Cocoa Research Institute in Ibadan while they were working.

The Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, stating that the police have launched an investigation into the matter. He emphasized that efforts are underway to ensure the safe return of the victims and to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
Ayanlade urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist the police in their rescue operations. "The Oyo State Police Command confirms a kidnapping incident involving three staff members of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN), who were abducted while inspecting crops on a farm within the institute’s premises. Upon receiving the report, the command immediately commenced intensive efforts to secure the safe rescue of the victims and apprehend the perpetrators," he said.
