Nigerian national arrested in Pennsylvania for public exposure incident
Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe faces charges after being caught exposing himself in public.

A Nigerian man, Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe, has been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Pennsylvania following a guilty plea to a disorderly conduct charge. The incident, which involved public exposure, occurred on September 27, leading to his arrest by local police.
According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Igbojekwe was taken into custody on October 1 after he pleaded guilty to the charges stemming from the public exposure incident. Reports indicate that he was found with his trousers down in a residential area near a park, where there were children and other residents present.
At the time of the incident, Igbojekwe was employed as a canvasser for Janelle Stelson, the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District. This employment has drawn criticism from ICE officials, particularly from Deputy Director Charles Wall, who expressed disbelief that a congressional campaign would hire someone with Igbojekwe's background. Wall stated, "It’s unbelievable that Janelle Stelson would employ an illegal alien to work on a Congressional campaign, let alone a pervert who exposed himself in public."
DHS records show that Igbojekwe was initially admitted to the United States in June 2017 but overstayed his visa, which expired in November 2019. He was granted deferred action under the Biden administration in September 2021, although the current status of his immigration case remains unclear.
This incident occurs against the backdrop of a broader immigration enforcement campaign by the Trump administration, which has prioritized the removal of non-citizens who violate U.S. laws. ICE continues to actively seek out individuals like Igbojekwe who are accused of both immigration and criminal offenses, emphasizing the agency's commitment to community safety.
As the case develops, further details regarding Igbojekwe's immigration status and potential removal proceedings are expected to be released by DHS.
