Olubadan announces safe return of kidnapped NYSC members from Abia State
The Olubadan of Ibadanland has confirmed the release of abducted NYSC members, following a call from Imo State's governor.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has officially confirmed the release of several prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who were kidnapped earlier this week. The victims were abducted on Thursday morning while traveling from Ibadan to the NYSC camp in Bende, Abia State.
Oba Ladoja announced the good news on Wednesday evening through his Media Aide, Adeola Oloko. According to Oloko, the release was communicated to the Olubadan via a phone call from the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma. The governor informed the traditional ruler that the abducted youths had been safely returned.
In his statement, Oloko said, "The prospective members of NYSC who were abducted have been released. The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, confirmed this in a telephone conversation with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja at 5.00pm today, Wednesday. It is true. It is good that you want to double-check."
The abduction incident raised concerns among families and the public, as it highlighted the ongoing security challenges in the region. The swift response from the authorities and the eventual release of the victims has been met with relief by the community.
The NYSC program, which is mandatory for Nigerian graduates, often sees participants traveling to various states for their service year. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety of these young individuals as they fulfill their national duties.
As investigations into the kidnapping continue, the Olubadan and local leaders are calling for enhanced security measures to protect citizens and prevent future occurrences of such incidents. The community remains hopeful that the government will take decisive action to address the underlying security issues affecting the region.
