A man has been arrested in Tennessee for the alleged murder of a pregnant woman, April Barlow Celio, whose body was discovered in Pineville, Kentucky, on September 23, 2026. Following a weeklong investigation, authorities identified DeMarcus Kenneth Johnson-Wright as the primary suspect in this tragic case.

Celio, 41, was found dead at a residence, prompting an immediate investigation by the Pineville Police and the Bell County Coroner's Office. The initial findings confirmed that she was a victim of homicide. Disturbingly, it was revealed that Celio was pregnant at the time of her death, but the State Medical Examiner's Office reported that no fetus was found in her womb. However, during the processing of the crime scene, investigators discovered what are believed to be fetal remains, intensifying the gravity of the situation.

Johnson-Wright, who has a significant history of violent crime, was already wanted for several felony charges in Tennessee, including first-degree robbery and kidnapping. On September 25, the Bell County District Court issued a warrant for his arrest, and additional charges for murder related to domestic violence and tampering with physical evidence were added shortly thereafter.

The U.S. Marshals Service tracked Johnson-Wright to a residence in Clarksville, Tennessee, where he was apprehended on the night of September 30. Following his arrest, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the location, recovering materials pertinent to the ongoing investigation.

Currently, Johnson-Wright is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center in Tennessee, where he awaits extradition to Kentucky to face the charges against him. The investigation into Celio's death continues, as authorities work to piece together the circumstances surrounding this horrific crime.
