An eight-year-old girl tragically lost her life in a road accident on Sunday, October 4, 2026, near the Anabel Event Centre along the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway in Anambra State. The incident involved a commercial bus, commonly referred to as a 'tracas', which was transporting 14 passengers from Nnewi to Enugu when it crashed and overturned.

The Anambra State Fire Service confirmed the details of the accident in a press statement issued on Tuesday by Chukwudi Chiketa, head of the Media and Publicity Unit. According to the statement, the emergency call was received around 3:30 PM, prompting an immediate response from fire service personnel who quickly mobilized to the scene.
