Houthis Launch Missile and Drone Attack on Saudi Aramco Amid Ongoing Conflict
Yemen's Houthis have intensified their attacks on Saudi Arabia, claiming responsibility for a recent strike on an Aramco facility.

Yemen's Houthi movement has escalated its military actions against Saudi Arabia, claiming responsibility for a series of missile and drone strikes targeting an Aramco facility in Riyadh. This attack is part of a broader response to what the Houthis describe as "Saudi aggression" against Yemen, particularly in the capital, Sanaa, and surrounding provinces.
In a statement released following the attack, the Houthis asserted that the Saudi-led coalition had conducted approximately 60 airstrikes within a 24-hour period, contributing to a staggering total of 1,410 strikes since the resurgence of hostilities. The group has vowed to continue its offensive, promising further "necessary escalatory steps and deterrent measures" against those they perceive as threats to their resistance.
The Houthis emphasized their commitment to a strategy of retaliation, stating, "We will continue the equation of siege for siege and escalation for escalation until the aggression ceases and the siege on our beloved country is lifted."
In response to the Houthi strikes, Yemen's internationally recognized military has launched its own operations targeting Houthi positions across the country. Colonel Majed Abdullah al-Nazili, a spokesperson for the Yemeni military, reported that their recent operations concentrated on "legitimate vital military targets in Sanaa," employing missiles, drones, and artillery.
Al-Nazili further claimed that the military's efforts resulted in the deaths or injuries of 1,540 Houthi rebels in just one day, with the majority of casualties occurring in the Taiz province. This region has become a focal point of renewed fighting, as government forces strive to halt the Houthi advance in the city of Taiz, which has seen significant conflict in recent weeks.
The ongoing violence underscores the deepening crisis in Yemen, a country that has been embroiled in conflict for several years, leading to a humanitarian disaster. Both sides appear entrenched in their positions, with no immediate resolution in sight as hostilities continue to escalate.
