Rick Ross arrested for alleged domestic violence against ex-girlfriend
The rapper faces felony and misdemeanor charges following allegations made by Jazzma Kendrick.

American rapper William Roberts, widely known as Rick Ross, was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, on charges of domestic violence against his former girlfriend, Jazzma Kendrick. The arrest, which took place on September 29, follows serious allegations made by Kendrick, a model and content creator, who accused Ross of physically assaulting her during their relationship.
Court documents reveal that Ross faces a felony charge of battery by strangulation and a misdemeanor count of battery. Kendrick took to social media on September 26 to share her experience, posting a series of Instagram stories that included images of an injury to her lip. In her posts, she recounted the incident, stating, "The day Rick busted my lip and the day I left," and urged women to avoid staying in abusive relationships, emphasizing, "If a man hits you one time, he will do it again. Don’t give him the opportunity, value your life and leave."
The alleged assault reportedly occurred on August 28, with Kendrick filing a police report shortly before Ross's arrest. She claimed that Ross slapped her multiple times, struck her chest, and pulled her hair, ultimately pushing her against a wall and hitting her in the face, which resulted in her lip injury. Kendrick provided police with photographic evidence of her injuries.
Following his arrest, Ross was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Centre, where he was held on a bond of $6,000. He has since been released on bail, with an arraignment set for October 22.
Ross's attorney, Steve Sadow, has publicly denied the allegations, asserting that Kendrick's claims are unfounded and questioning her motives, particularly since the police report was filed nearly a month after the alleged incident. Sadow stated, "Mr. Roberts is innocent and has pled not guilty to the charges. He respectfully requests that his friends, fans and the general public not prejudge the situation and allow the judicial process to run its course."
Rick Ross, who gained fame with his 2006 hit single "Hustlin'" and is the founder of Maybach Music Group, has released numerous successful albums throughout his career. The allegations against him are currently under judicial review, and further developments are anticipated as the case progresses.
