Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made a strong statement regarding Israel's military stance, warning that any future attacks from its enemies will result in severe retaliation. This declaration comes on the heels of Israel's recent success in demolishing a significant Hezbollah tunnel network in southern Lebanon, which Netanyahu described as a "massive victory" for the Israeli defense forces.

During a press briefing, Netanyahu emphasized the importance of the operation that targeted Hezbollah positions at the Beaufort and Ali al-Taher ridges. He affirmed Israel's commitment to dismantling terrorist infrastructure, stating, "If you haven’t learned the lesson by now, and you choose to attack us again, you will suffer even heavier blows. There is still work to complete."

The operation included the destruction of a tunnel network that Israel claims was utilized by Hezbollah for military purposes, including housing a command center and storing weapons intended for attacks on northern Israel. The demolition was so powerful that it generated a fireball visible from a distance and registered a tremor equivalent to a 4.1 magnitude earthquake, according to the US Geological Survey.

This military action follows a series of escalations in the region, particularly after Israel and the United States launched strikes against Iran earlier this year. Iran has been a longstanding supporter of Hezbollah and Hamas, contributing to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The conflict intensified when Hezbollah fired rockets into Israel in solidarity with Iran, effectively drawing Lebanon into the broader conflict.

Currently, Israeli forces maintain a presence in southern Lebanon, where they have established what they refer to as a "security zone." This area has been a focal point of military operations, especially following the recent capture of strategic sites like the Beaufort castle.

In a bid to stabilize the region, Israel and Lebanon reached a US-sponsored framework agreement in June, which outlines the disarmament of Hezbollah and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon. The agreement also includes provisions for deploying the Lebanese army in designated pilot zones to enhance security.

As tensions remain high, Netanyahu's warnings serve as a reminder of the fragile state of peace in the region and the potential for further military confrontations if provocations continue.
