Mosimiloluwa Olu-Onifade, a recent graduate of Babcock University, has opened up about her emotional journey leading up to her graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health. Despite earning a Second Class Upper on July 26, 2025, Olu-Onifade took a month to publicly acknowledge her achievement due to feelings of self-doubt and comparison.

In a candid post on LinkedIn dated August 27, 2025, Olu-Onifade expressed her internal conflict regarding the significance of her degree. She revealed that she grappled with the belief that her result was not worthy of celebration, particularly when comparing herself to peers who graduated with First Class honours. This internal struggle resonated with many graduates who often find themselves measuring their successes against unrealistic standards.

Olu-Onifade's academic record, however, tells a different story. Her undergraduate research project, which focused on the perception of health risks and the adoption of safety measures among factory workers in Ibadan, earned her an impressive A grade. This accomplishment, along with her successful completion of comprehensive examinations, underscores her dedication and hard work throughout her studies.

Reflecting on her journey, she stated, "For a long time, I downplayed this achievement because I was comparing it to what I thought I should have achieved. I had always imagined graduating with a First Class, and because I didn’t, I found myself looking at a Second Class Upper as though it were something small."

Despite her initial hesitation, Olu-Onifade ultimately recognized the importance of her degree, stating, "This degree took hard work, determination, resilience, and a lot of growth. It came with the highs and the lows, the moments I was confident and the moments I questioned myself. Looking back, I am grateful for all of it."
