I won't throw away my marriage simply because my husband cheated or impregnated another woman - Nigerian lawyer says

A Nigerian lawyer, Stella Nnennaya, has laughed off the idea of divorcing her husband if he cheats or impregnates another woman. In a Facebook post on Monday, August 31, the mother of two stated that she won't throw away her marriage simply because her husband made a 'terrible decision'. According to her, there are more effective punishments for a cheating husband, and divorce isn't one of them.

"Someone asked me: "Stella, what if your husband cheats on you or even impregnates another woman? Will you divorce him?" she wrote. I laughed. DIVORCE WHO? Me? Divorce my husband because he cheated or got another woman pregnant? That will not even be the first thing that will cross my mind. There are MANY ways to deal with a chÀªâting husband. Divorce is not the only punishment available. In fact, some punishments are so effective that the man will sit down and start asking himself: "Why did I do this thing?" I believe marriage is bigger than one mistake, and I won't throw away my marriage simply because my husband made a terrible decision. Forgiveness is possible. Reconciliation is possible. Consequences are also possible. But divorce? That would be the LAST thing on my mind. Stella Justice Nnennaya
