A Nigerian lady has shared her thoughts on modern relationships, arguing that love has increasingly been replaced by material expectations.

Speaking in a video, she said true love is about genuinely choosing someone beyond money, physical appearance or what they can provide.

"Love is you choosing that person above every other thing. Love is the man takes away the money, the woman takes away the body, and they still want each other," she said.

The woman, who said she got married for love 10 years ago, revealed that during the years she dated her husband, she rarely asked him for gifts or money.

She argued that many relationships today have become centred around phones, expensive gifts, money and physical intimacy rather than genuine affection.

"If you cannot choose that, you are not in love, you are in business," she concluded.
