The wife of Ifeanyi Ogbonna, a popular content creator in Delta State known as Odogwu of Asaba, has publicly defended her husband against allegations of rape following the tragic death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro. Ogbonna, 40, was arrested by the Delta State Police Command in connection with the case, which has drawn significant public attention.

In a video shared on Ogbonna's social media page, his wife, whose name has not been disclosed, asserted that her husband did not rape Agbro but rather had an affair with her. She emphasized her unwavering support for Ogbonna, stating, "Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody. I know my husband…. Odogwu Asaba did not rape Favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl."

The police report indicates that Agbro traveled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after Ogbonna allegedly offered to mentor her in content creation, specifically on how to monetize her TikTok and Facebook accounts. According to the police, Agbro later returned home distressed and recounted her experience to her parents. Tragically, she ingested a toxic substance and died while receiving medical treatment.

Ogbonna's wife expressed her thoughts on the ongoing situation, urging the public to refrain from treating social media commentary as a substitute for the legal process. "Everything is not actually the way they presented it. Before I could come out to talk, I have learnt a lot about this matter. Social media is not a courtroom," she stated.

Acknowledging the gravity of Agbro's death, she conveyed that this was a reason for her cautious approach to the matter. "Yes, someone has died and that is why we are taking it easy. But Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody," she added.

The police have confirmed that a petition was filed by Agbro's family, leading to Ogbonna's arrest. Investigations are ongoing, and he is expected to be charged in court. As of now, Ogbonna has not been convicted of any crime, and the allegations remain under investigation.

The couple has been married for eight years and has four children together. As the case unfolds, Ogbonna's wife remains steadfast in her support, indicating that he will have the opportunity to present his side of the story when he returns from custody.
