The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State is making significant strides to reconcile its members and bolster cooperation among its candidates as the 2027 general elections approach. This initiative was discussed during a strategic meeting that brought together the party's leadership, governorship candidate, and various electoral candidates, including those vying for senatorial and House of Representatives positions.

At the meeting, the Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal, emphasized the importance of unity among the candidates to ensure the party's success in the upcoming elections. He called on all members to set aside personal differences and collaborate effectively. Lawal stated, "The task ahead requires unity, commitment and genuine teamwork. If we are determined to win, every candidate must support one another and ensure that our message gets to the people across all the wards and local governments of Oyo State."

The Director-General of the APM Campaign Council, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, reiterated the council's commitment to achieving victory for all candidates, not just focusing on the governorship election. He highlighted the need for grassroots mobilization, urging candidates to familiarize voters with the APM logo and campaign message throughout the state. Adeniran remarked, "We must reach every nook and cranny of Oyo State. Our logo, our candidates and our message must get to the doorstep of every household."

In addition to mobilization, Adeniran called for genuine reconciliation among party members, encouraging candidates to return to their constituencies to resolve any lingering issues. He stressed that unnecessary conflicts should be avoided, as the focus should be on collective success. "We need serious and genuine reconciliation. Go back to your localities, resolve the issues and work together. There is no need for unnecessary battles when what we are pursuing is a collective victory," he stated.

The APM State Chairman, Otunba Adegbenro Fagbemi, also urged party members to work collaboratively to achieve the party's objectives. During the meeting, various candidates expressed their commitment to the party's vision and pledged to work together to address concerns raised.

Hon Bimbo Adekanmbi, the APM governorship candidate, praised the leadership for organizing the meeting and noted that the achievements of the current administration under Governor Seyi Makinde provide a strong foundation for the party's campaign. He encouraged all members to actively engage with the electorate. "We must take our message to the people and work together for the success of Governor Makinde and all APM candidates in the 2027 elections," Adekanmbi said.

The meeting also saw participation from key figures within the party, including the Deputy Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign, Hon Saheed Arowosaye, and various deputy directors representing different senatorial districts. The leadership expressed optimism that the ongoing reconciliation efforts, enhanced coordination, and effective grassroots mobilization would significantly improve the APM's chances in the forthcoming elections.
