The Plateau State Police Command has intensified security measures in the Bin’per community, located in the Bwoi-Ruf District of Mangu Local Government Area, after a deadly attack occurred early on Tuesday. The Commissioner of Police for Plateau State, CP Ayodeji Faniyan, made this announcement during a visit to the affected area to assess the security situation.

CP Faniyan expressed his condolences to the traditional council elders, the Local Government Chairman, and the residents of Mangu, assuring them that the police are committed to identifying, arresting, and prosecuting those responsible for the violence. He emphasized the police's determination to utilize all constitutional means necessary to bring the perpetrators to justice.

During his visit, Faniyan conveyed a message of sympathy from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who condemned the attack and instructed local authorities to take all necessary precautions to prevent future incidents. The Commissioner stated, "The Command will do everything within its constitutional powers to identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible."

In a bid to restore peace and confidence among the residents, the police have increased their presence in Bin’per and surrounding areas. Faniyan urged the community to cooperate with law enforcement by providing timely and accurate information that could assist in ongoing investigations. He also called for calm, advising residents against taking the law into their own hands, as such actions could exacerbate tensions and hinder justice efforts.

The police reiterated their commitment to safeguarding lives and property while maintaining peace throughout Plateau State. They encouraged the public to report any credible information to security agencies, further strengthening the security framework in the region as they work to prevent any recurrence of violence in the community.
