Delta Governor Oborevwori establishes councils for three state universities
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has appointed governing councils for three universities in Delta State.

In a significant move aimed at enhancing the governance of higher education in Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the establishment of governing councils for three state-owned universities. This decision was made public on Tuesday through a statement from Kingsley Emu, the Secretary to the State Government, which was shared on social media by the governor's media aide, Ossai Success.
The universities set to benefit from this initiative are the University of Delta located in Agbor, Dennis Osadebay University, and Southern Delta University. Each university will have its own governing council, tasked with overseeing the administration and strategic direction of the institutions.
For the University of Delta, Agbor, the council will be led by Prof. Victor Peretomode, who will serve as the Pro-Chancellor. He will be joined by a diverse group of members including Rear Admiral Peter I. Eluma, Prof. Ebele Egwunyega, Dr. Roland Oritsejafor, Mrs. Joy Enwa, Prof. Ben Oghojafor, and Prof. Patrick Oromareghake.
At Dennis Osadebay University, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare has been appointed as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the governing council. His team will consist of Dr. Christopher Onyemenam, Chief Elmina V. Namah, Prof. Jacob Oboreh, Dr. Josephine Konyeme, Dr. Philomena Imonivewerha, and Prof. Rowell Ubogu.
Meanwhile, Southern Delta University will have Chief Godson Echegile as its chairperson, with council members including Prof. Benedict Binebai, Sur. Mrs. Felicia Omatsola, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, Dr. Tosan Luck Popo, Prof. William Ehwarieme, and Prof. Mrs. Regina Arisi.
The statement concluded by indicating that the inauguration of these councils will be announced in the near future, setting the stage for a new chapter in the governance of these educational institutions. This initiative reflects the state government's commitment to improving educational standards and governance in Delta State's universities.
