In a significant boost for education and youth empowerment in Bauchi State, former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki inaugurated a state-of-the-art 500-seater Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre on Sunday. The facility, built by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Usman Suphi, is designed to equip young people with essential digital skills and opportunities.

Represented by Kawu Baraje, a former Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Saraki expressed his congratulations to the people of Bauchi for having Suphi, whom he described as a great son of the state. He praised Suphi's dedication to community development and youth empowerment, emphasizing the importance of the initiative. "Dr. Saraki is known to be an advocate of youth empowerment and education. Therefore, for him to be here today is an honour," Baraje stated on behalf of Saraki.

During the commissioning, Saraki urged the youth to take ownership of the new facility and utilize it effectively to enhance their knowledge and digital capabilities. The ICT Centre is equipped with brand-new laptops, a Local Area Network, and all necessary accessories for computer-based tests, making it a vital resource for students in Azare and surrounding areas.

Usman Suphi highlighted that the centre is more than just a physical structure; it symbolizes hope and opportunity for the community. He articulated that education and empowerment are among the most significant investments a society can make. "The future belongs to societies that embrace knowledge, innovation and technology. Our objective is to ensure that the young people of Azare, Bauchi State and beyond are not spectators in the digital revolution but active participants and future leaders," Suphi remarked.

The facility is expected to enable thousands of students to confidently undertake computer-based examinations while providing them with avenues to acquire digital skills, professional certifications, and competencies in emerging technologies. Suphi also noted that the project aligns with the philosophy of the Assufiyya Humanitarian Foundation, which emphasizes that service to humanity is the highest form of leadership.

In his address, Suphi acknowledged the contributions of various individuals and organizations that supported the project, reiterating the foundation's commitment to education, healthcare, humanitarian assistance, and youth development. He called on governments, educational institutions, corporate organizations, and development partners to collaborate in creating opportunities for young people, stating, "Together, we can transform communities. Together, we can shape destinies. Together, we can build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria."
