Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has claimed that popular afrobeats artist David Adeleke, known as Davido, blocked him on social media platform X due to the impact of his political messages. Sowore made this assertion in a post on his verified account on Sunday, suggesting that Davido's reaction was a direct response to his criticism of the singer's political affiliations.

In his post, Sowore expressed dissatisfaction with Davido's endorsement of President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as a failure. He emphasized that Davido's support for Tinubu contradicts the realities faced by many Nigerians. "You can’t endorse a failure like Tinubu, grin from ear to ear in meetings with him," Sowore stated, highlighting the disconnect he perceives between the elite and the everyday struggles of citizens.

Sowore's comments also targeted Davido's uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, accusing both the singer and the governor of treating the resources of Osun State as a personal family affair. He urged them to recognize the dire situation that many Nigerians find themselves in, stating, "You guys must stop fooling around, stop treating the Osun State treasury like a family jackpot, and face the harsh reality millions of Nigerians are living through every single day."
