Voting concludes in Osun State as early results from governorship election emerge
As voting wraps up in Osun State, initial results from the governorship election are starting to surface.

Voting has officially concluded in various polling units across Osun State, marking a significant step in the ongoing governorship election. With the completion of voter accreditation and ballot casting, presiding officers have begun the sorting and counting of votes, leading to the emergence of preliminary results from different regions of the state.
As of 4:30 PM, reports indicate that 903 out of 3,763 polling units have successfully uploaded their results to the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) Results Viewing Portal (IReV). This early data provides a glimpse into the electoral landscape, with various parties vying for control of the state.
Among the key candidates, Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party expressed optimism about his chances of re-election after casting his vote at Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9 in Ede North Local Government Area. He conveyed confidence in the support of the electorate, suggesting that he believes he can secure another term in office.
On the opposing side, Bola Oyebamiji, the candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC), also demonstrated a positive outlook following his vote at Ward 09, Unit 011 in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area. Speaking to journalists, he indicated that he feels assured of victory as the counting process unfolds.
However, not all candidates share the same level of confidence. Najeem Salaam, representing the African Democratic Congress (ADC), raised concerns regarding the alleged exclusion of his party agents in several polling areas throughout the state. This claim highlights the challenges and controversies that often accompany electoral processes in Nigeria.
The initial results from some polling units have already been announced, showcasing varying levels of support for the candidates. For instance, in Ward 4, Unit 39 of Osogbo Local Government Area, the results showed:
- Accord Party: 65 votes
