Najeem Salaam, the governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osun State, has expressed serious concerns regarding the exclusion of his party's agents from several polling units during the recent elections held on Saturday. Salaam reported that despite the ADC submitting the names of its agents ahead of the election, many were not recognized at polling stations across 10 local government areas in the state.

Arriving at his polling unit at 10:39 a.m., Salaam stated that he received multiple reports indicating that ADC agents were being denied access, which he described as a significant issue that could undermine the electoral process. He has since reported these concerns to the relevant authorities, who are currently investigating the matter.

In addition to raising the alarm about agent exclusion, Salaam firmly denied allegations of vote buying against his party. He emphasized that the ADC's campaign strategy focuses on engaging with voters and discussing their programs rather than resorting to unethical practices. "We converse with the people, we let them know our programmes, and that is exactly what we do. Vote buying is out of it. I have never in my life bought votes," he stated.

Salaam reiterated the importance of allowing voters the freedom to choose their preferred candidate without any coercion or manipulation. He expressed confidence in his chances of winning the election, attributing his optimism to his faith in God and the support he has received from the electorate.

The ADC candidate voted at Ward 4, where he highlighted the need for a fair electoral process that respects the rights of all voters and candidates. As the situation develops, the scrutiny surrounding the election process in Osun State continues to grow, with many looking to the authorities for a resolution to the issues raised by Salaam and his party.
