LASTMA launches manhunt as motorist flees after knocking man down in Lagos

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has initiated a manhunt for an unidentified motorist involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a man critically injured in Ketu, Lagos. The accident occurred over the weekend, with the victim found in a pool of blood suffering from severe fractures and a serious head injury. LASTMA officers quickly secured the accident scene and provided immediate assistance to the victim, who required urgent medical attention. The Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) was alerted and assessed the victim's condition, noting the need for specialized trauma care. LASTMA's General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, condemned the driver's actions as irresponsible and emphasized the moral obligation of motorists to assist injured individuals. He urged witnesses and the public to come forward with any information that could help locate the fleeing driver.
