Influencer Ash Trevino faces allegations of having relationships with 50 to 75 prison inmates. The claims have sparked a heated debate about the ethics of influencer interactions with incarcerated individuals.
Influencer Ash Trevino has pleaded guilty to welfare fraud and healthcare fraud after Texas prosecutors alleged that she had relationships with between 50 and 75 inmates over several years.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, prosecutors claimed Trevino had relationships with approximately "50-75 inmates" in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. They alleged that some of the inmates were serving sentences for violent offences, including aggravated robbery and murder.
Prosecutors also accused Trevino of soliciting money from followers on TikTok in exchange for disclosing health information about a dependent.
The court documents further alleged that the influencer had participated in s3xually explicit videos and livestreams on social media. Trevino was initially arrested in December 2025 on outstanding warrants. She was released after posting bond but was taken back into custody in March 2026 for allegedly violating the conditions of her release.
She was subsequently charged with welfare fraud and healthcare fraud. This week, Trevino pleaded guilty to the charges and avoided additional jail time. She was sentenced to two years of community supervision, 120 hours of community service, an anti-theft class and financial counselling.
She was also ordered to pay $16,799.95 in restitution to the state. The allegations concerning her relationships with inmates and her social media activity were made by prosecutors in court documents and were not themselves the basis of the fraud convictions.
