Update: Wife drags husband's side chic to police over damning voice note, alleges threat to life

An aggrieved married woman has escalated a domestic dispute by reporting her husband's mistress to the Nigeria Police Force in Warri, Delta State, over allegations of a threat to life.

The development follows a controversial voice note that has gone viral across social media platforms. read here

The incident gained public attention after human rights activist, Israel Joe, shared the audio recording online. In the widely circulated clip, the mistress openly criticized the wife, identified as the spouse of a man named Julius, for repeatedly contacting her and demanding she end the extramarital affair.

In the audio, the mistress claimed the wife was envious of a hair salon business Julius had established for her. She further boasted about providing intimate experiences that the wife supposedly could not match. Defending her relationship with Julius, the mistress argued that she did not complain when the businessman purchased a vehicle for his wife, and questioned why her salon business should spark animosity. The recording concluded with the mistress disclosing her residential area and daring the wife to confront her physically.

Following the online backlash, Israel Joe provided an update confirming that the wife had filed a formal complaint at a local police station, accusing the mistress of threatening her life.

However, the legal pursuit proved brief. In a subsequent update, the activist revealed that law enforcement officials declined to investigate further, dismissing the feuding parties and advising them that the dispute is entirely a civil matter rather than a criminal offense.
