The Chairman of Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State, Umar Yusuf, has revoked all existing indigeneship certificates issued by the council.

The revocation is contained in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Wukari by the council’s Director of Administration and General Services, Ali Baba.

Yusuf said the action became necessary following the introduction of a redesigned certificate and advised members of the public to collect the new certificates from the council secretariat.

“All persons holding the old certificates are hereby directed to report to the Office of the Director Administration and General Services at the Local Government Secretariat for the collection of the new certification of indigene.

“Note that all old certificates currently in circulation stand revoked with immediate effect please,” he said.
