Nollywood actress and media personality, Nancy Isime, has spoken about the emotionally intense experience she went through while filming the hit series Blood Sisters, revealing that several moments on set left her mentally and physically drained due to the depth of her role.

Reflecting on the production, she explained that some of the earliest takes required such emotional commitment that she had to "completely withdraw into herself" between scenes in order to recover enough to continue filming.

She described the process as one that left her "emotionally drained" after stepping fully into the reality of her character.

Isime recalled a particularly touching moment when veteran actress Kate Henshaw-referred to on set as "Aunty Kate"-approached her after a difficult take.

Still visibly overwhelmed, Isime said Kate held her shoulders, looked at her with tears in her eyes, and simply told her, "Thank you for going there," acknowledging the emotional weight of her performance.

The actress noted that she could barely respond at that moment because she was still deeply immersed in character, saying she remained emotionally affected even during casual interactions with cast and crew, as the intensity of the scenes shaped the entire atmosphere on set.

She also shared a lighter behind-the-scenes memory involving director Daniel Oriahi, who reportedly asked her how she was able to produce a strong physical reaction in a scene and whether she could repeat it.

According to her, the moment unexpectedly repeated itself naturally during filming.

Isime said that after that particular scene, the discomfort she had been portraying "miraculously went away," describing it as one of those unpredictable shifts that can happen during deeply immersive performances where emotion and physicality blend on set.

She further reflected on the darker portions of the series, which she referred to as her "black hole" scenes.

During those moments, she said she preferred to be left alone even when cameras were not rolling, as she tried to stay fully within the emotional space of her character.

At one point, she admitted she even instructed the production team not to constantly check on her or offer food and water, as she was trying to maintain emotional continuity.

However, she added that this request was not strictly followed by everyone on set due to concern for her wellbeing.

She also recalled an incident involving co-star Blessing Jessica Obasi, noting that while Obasi respected her process, she could still see worry in her eyes-especially during a moment when Isime's fingers were reportedly injured while writing on a wall during a scene.

Despite the tension, she said the set remained supportive throughout.

Concluding her reflection, Isime expressed surprise at how deeply her colleagues were affected by her performance, admitting she did not fully realize the extent of their concern until after filming.

Watching those reactions later, she said, left her emotional and deeply grateful for the shared effort that brought Blood Sisters to life.
