Two individuals have lost their lives and five others have been injured following armed attacks in Toul and Halle communities, located in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. The incidents took place around 9pm on Sunday, November 1, 2026, when assailants opened fire on unsuspecting residents.

Gabriel Titus, a local resident, detailed the harrowing events, stating that one person was killed and four others injured in the Toul community attack. He described the scene as chaotic, with gunmen indiscriminately firing at the people. In a separate incident in Halle, another individual was killed, while one more sustained injuries.

These attacks have raised alarm among the local populace, particularly as they occurred despite an existing curfew imposed by the state government aimed at curbing violence in the area. Titus expressed frustration over the situation, stating, "There is a curfew in place, but the gunmen still came and carried out the attack." His comments highlight the growing insecurity that has plagued the region, prompting calls for increased vigilance from security forces.

Residents are now calling on security operatives to enhance their surveillance efforts and take decisive action against those responsible for the violence. Titus emphasized the urgent need for measures to protect the communities, as the recurring attacks have left many residents feeling vulnerable and anxious about their safety.

As of the time of this report, attempts to obtain comments from security operatives regarding the incidents were still ongoing. The situation in Plateau State remains tense as communities grapple with the fear of further violence in the wake of these attacks.
