A four-year-old boy has narrowly escaped death after falling from the top floor of a two-storey building in Aba, Abia State. The incident, which occurred shortly after the boy returned home from school, has sparked a wave of relief and gratitude among local residents.

According to a neighbor, Sam Odeg, the boy was playing on the balcony when he attempted to climb the railing. Tragically, he lost his grip and fell from the height, landing on the rough ground below, which was littered with sharp stones. Odeg recounted the harrowing moment, stating that the loud thud of the boy hitting the ground alerted nearby residents.

"He lay there motionless," Odeg described. The alarm was raised by a neighbor who rushed outside upon hearing the thud, leading to a frantic response from those nearby. Odeg and another resident quickly ran to the scene, finding the boy in a pool of his own blood. They immediately transported him to the hospital, where his parents later met them.

Miraculously, the boy survived the fall. Odeg expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank God he didn't fall headlong. The story would have been different. Or maybe he really did fall headlong, but God turned him around, and he landed on his side." His survival has been attributed to divine intervention, with many in the community joining in prayers of thanksgiving.

The incident has raised awareness about the dangers of children playing near balconies and the importance of supervision. Local parents are now more vigilant, ensuring that their children are safe while playing at home.

As the community reflects on this near-tragic event, the boy's recovery remains a testament to resilience and hope. His story has resonated deeply, prompting many to express their gratitude for his survival and to advocate for safer environments for children.
