21-year-old butcher arrested for allegedly killing colleague in Ogun State
A disagreement over workplace duties leads to a fatal stabbing in Ogun.

The Ogun State Police have taken a 21-year-old butcher, Selim Ayodele, into custody for allegedly murdering his colleague, Ibrahim Wasiu, during a dispute at their workplace. The tragic incident occurred on October 18 in Alagbole, Ogun State.
According to police reports, the altercation arose after both men had completed their work at a cow meat-selling outlet. The disagreement reportedly centered around the responsibility of sweeping the floor. In the heat of the argument, Ayodele allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Wasiu in the left side of his chest, twisting the weapon in a violent act.
Emergency responders rushed Wasiu to Life Hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival. His body has since been transferred to Life Channel Private Mortuary in Lanbe, Ajuwon, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
SP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are ongoing. The police are preparing to prosecute Ayodele as they gather more evidence related to the case. This incident has raised concerns about workplace violence and the need for conflict resolution mechanisms in local businesses.
As the investigation unfolds, the community is left in shock over the loss of a young life due to a seemingly trivial disagreement. The police have urged anyone with further information about the incident to come forward as they continue their inquiries.
