Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has opened up about a prophecy he received prior to his imprisonment, revealing that it accurately foretold his tumultuous journey. Speaking at a birthday celebration for activist Sunday Igboho on October 10, 2026, Baba Ijesha recounted how a prophet had predicted both calamity and eventual greatness in his life.

During the gathering, which was attended by notable figures including veteran broadcaster Kolo Olootu, Baba Ijesha shared that he had been told he would face significant trials that would bring him to tears before he could achieve his destined success. He expressed that the events that followed confirmed the prophecy's authenticity, stating, "Before I went to prison, someone saw a revelation about me that I'll be a great man, but a huge calamity will befall me that'll make me shed lots of tears before the prophecy will eventually come to pass. It was after that I went to prison."

Baba Ijesha's legal troubles began in 2022 when he was convicted of sexually assaulting a minor, leading to a five-year prison sentence. After serving over three years, he was released on November 15, 2025. Since his release, he has embraced a new chapter in his life, describing it as a fresh start.
