In a remarkable turn of events, a 15-year-old girl named Yuleidy Ixcotoyac shocked mourners by waking up inside her coffin during her own funeral in Guatemala. The incident, which has since gone viral, took place in the rural village of El Jocote, where family and friends had gathered to mourn her supposed death.

Yuleidy's father, Abraham Ixcotoyac, reported that she lost consciousness while he was driving her to a medical center. After stopping the car to check her vital signs, he declared her dead, stating, "She had simply ceased to exist; she died on the way." Despite his efforts, he did not take her to the hospital, believing she was no longer alive.

Following the declaration of her death, preparations for her funeral began just eight hours later, which is customary in the region. Mourners arrived at the family home at 2:30 p.m. to pay their respects. A wooden coffin was promptly purchased, reflecting the urgency of the situation.

The shocking moment occurred when Yuleidy's mother, Lesvia Ríos, leaned over the coffin during the wake and noticed faint movements inside. She recalled, "I kept saying she was alive; she wasn't dead. When I was crying over her coffin, we opened the window, and she was moving. She was waking up, and suddenly she sat up."

As Yuleidy sat upright in the coffin, her family was left in disbelief. They quickly assisted her out of the casket and offered her a cup of water. The atmosphere shifted from one of mourning to jubilation as relatives celebrated her unexpected revival, shouting "Hallelujah!" in amazement.

Yuleidy later recounted her experience, describing the moments leading up to her loss of consciousness. "My heart started hurting really badly. It felt heavy, and then I blacked out, like I fainted," she explained.

This extraordinary incident has captured the attention of many, sparking discussions about medical emergencies and the importance of thorough examinations before declaring someone deceased. The family is now left to process the miracle of Yuleidy's return to life, a story that will surely be told for generations to come.
