So-Safe Corps arrests two Beninese men for burglary in Ogun State
Two suspects were apprehended in Ogun State for allegedly stealing pumping machines.

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, commonly known as the So-Safe Corps, has arrested two foreign nationals in connection with a burglary incident involving the theft of pumping machines. The suspects, identified only as Monday and Vovo, were apprehended on Monday after community members alerted authorities about their suspicious activities in the Ajambata area along Sokoto Road, Atan-Ota.
According to a statement from the Corps Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi, the suspects were found in possession of the stolen pumping machines. The prompt response from So-Safe Corps operatives, who were on patrol in the vicinity, led to the swift capture of the two men. They were subsequently taken to the Atan Area Command for further questioning.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Monday, a long-time resident of Atan, has lived in the area for several years, while Vovo is a recent arrival, having moved to the community just a few months ago. During interrogation, Monday admitted to not being directly involved in the theft but acknowledged that he often assisted Vovo in finding buyers for stolen goods, a claim that Vovo corroborated.
The operation resulted in the recovery of two pumping machines, which were later identified and claimed by three individuals from the community. Following the recovery, the suspects were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Atan Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and potential prosecution.
Soji Ganzallo, the State Commander of the So-Safe Corps, emphasized the agency's dedication to ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to assist in the Corps' efforts to maintain law and order in their communities.
