In a recent military operation, suspected members of the Lakurawa terrorist group fled from a motorcycle repair workshop in Kware town, Sokoto State, as troops moved in to apprehend them. The raid took place on September 11, 2026, around 10:05 a.m., according to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the details on X.

The operation was executed by the 8 Guards Task Force, stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Kware. The troops acted on intelligence suggesting that the workshop was being used by the terrorists to repair motorcycles that are believed to facilitate their criminal activities.

As the troops approached, the suspects reportedly abandoned the workshop, leaving behind two motorcycles. The military personnel successfully recovered these motorcycles and have taken them for further investigation.

In the aftermath of the raid, efforts are underway to track down the fleeing suspects. Security forces have intensified surveillance and offensive operations in the area to ensure the safety of the community and prevent further activities by the terrorist group.

The Lakurawa group has been implicated in various criminal activities, particularly involving the use of motorcycles for their operations. This raid marks a significant step in ongoing efforts by Nigerian security forces to combat terrorism and restore peace in affected regions.

Authorities continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as the military works to dismantle terrorist networks operating within Sokoto State and beyond.
