In a significant operation against insurgency, troops from the 120 Task Force Battalion, alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), successfully ambushed and neutralized a terrorist in Yobe State. The operation took place on September 1, 2026, around 11 am in the Lamusuri area of Gujba Local Government Area.
Counter-terrorism expert Zagazola Makama shared details of the operation, highlighting the successful collaboration between military forces and local vigilantes. During the ambush, the troops managed to neutralize one terrorist and recover a cache of weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 90 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, along with a body pouch.
The recovered arms and ammunition have been secured and taken into military custody for further investigation and action. This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the Nigerian military under Operation HADIN KAI, aimed at disrupting terrorist activities and curbing the movement of armed groups within Yobe State.
