A divorce case filed by Raina Chassagne against her husband, Tory Lanez, has been dismissed by a Los Angeles judge, leaving their marriage legally unchanged. The case, which had been stalled for over two years due to Lanez's incarceration, was dismissed without a final ruling on the couple's marital status.

Raina Chassagne filed for divorce in June 2024, less than a year after marrying Lanez on June 25, 2023. In her petition, she cited irreconcilable differences and indicated June 1, 2024, as the date of separation. Chassagne sought legal and physical custody of their son, Kai'Lon, while leaving spousal support matters for the court to decide.

The dismissal of the divorce petition occurred when Judge Nicole M. Heeseman ruled that Chassagne failed to advance the case within the required timeframe. Court records show that Chassagne was warned to serve Lanez with divorce papers to avoid the case being thrown out, a warning she did not heed in time. The formal notice of dismissal was issued on August 6, 2024, indicating that the case could not proceed due to a failure to bring the action to judgment.

Despite the divorce filing, Chassagne and Lanez appeared to maintain a strong family bond. She has been seen visiting Lanez in prison multiple times and publicly celebrated him on Father's Day in June 2025, referring to him as “our rock” and expressing anticipation for his return home. This suggests that the couple has remained close, even amid the legal proceedings.

Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was convicted in December 2022 for assault with a semiautomatic firearm, stemming from an incident involving rapper Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. He received a 10-year prison sentence in August 2023, and his conviction was upheld by a California appeals court in November 2025. Lanez's legal troubles have been a significant backdrop to the couple's relationship, influencing the dynamics of their marriage.

Chassagne, born in July 1994 in Miami, Florida, is a digital creator and business manager. She has been a consistent presence in Lanez's life, even after the divorce filing, and has not indicated any plans to pursue a new divorce petition since the dismissal of her case.

As of now, Tory Lanez remains incarcerated, with his legal battles continuing to draw public attention. The couple's future remains uncertain, but their commitment to co-parenting their son appears to be a priority for both.

This case highlights the complexities of relationships affected by legal issues and incarceration, as well as the challenges faced by couples navigating such turbulent circumstances.
