Chelsea FC is reportedly looking to strengthen its midfield by considering a move for free agent Georginio Wijnaldum. This development comes in the wake of the club's failed deadline-day transfer for Lamine Camara, which has left them seeking immediate reinforcements.

The Blues had reached an agreement with AS Monaco for Camara, but the deal fell through at the last moment when the French club made a surprising decision to withdraw. Compounding Chelsea's issues, Enzo Fernandez completed a record-equalling £125 million transfer to Manchester City, further depleting manager Xabi Alonso's midfield options.
