Kaduna Governor Uba Sani donates buses to key state institutions
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has donated new buses to several organizations, addressing mobility issues.

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has made a significant contribution to local institutions by donating brand-new buses to five key organizations, including the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kaduna State University (KASU), and the Nigerian Correctional Service. The donation took place on Tuesday in Kaduna, with the governor emphasizing the importance of these institutions in the development of the state.
During the presentation, Governor Sani stated that the gesture was aimed at alleviating transportation challenges faced by the organizations. He highlighted the critical roles these institutions play in the state's progress, saying, "Iβm only handing over the vehicles to the beneficiaries. All the five very critical institutions that were given these vehicles today are very important organisations and have done a lot in contributing towards the development of our state."
The Vice-Chancellor of KASU, Prof. Abdullahi Musa, expressed gratitude for the donation, calling it a historic development for the university. He praised the governor for his generosity and commitment to supporting educational institutions in the state.
The Chairman of the Kaduna Council of the NUJ, AbdulGafar Alabelewe, received the bus on behalf of journalists and noted that the union had requested the vehicle approximately six months ago during a Ramadan iftar with the governor. He described the delivery as a major milestone, highlighting that it had been nearly two decades since the state government provided a similar gesture. "Today, history is being made because we are not just getting a bus; we are getting a luxury bus, for that matter," Alabelewe remarked. He added that the new vehicle would enhance journalists' mobility for assignments across the state, reinforcing the media's role in holding the government accountable.
In his remarks, Dr. Hassan Salihu, the NMA Kaduna chairman, thanked the governor for the donation, affirming the commitment to advancing healthcare systems in the region. Similarly, the NBA Kaduna chairman, Baba Lawal, expressed appreciation for the bus, stating that it would strengthen the operational capacity of the association.
The Controller of Corrections in Kaduna State, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, also thanked the governor for the donation, indicating that the vehicle would be used for transporting inmates to courts and health facilities, among other official duties. He expressed joy at this milestone, which he said would enhance the operations of the correctional service in the state.
This donation by Governor Sani reflects a broader commitment to improving infrastructure and support for essential services in Kaduna State, fostering collaboration among various sectors for the betterment of the community.
