Chief Mike Duru Ejiogu, the senatorial candidate for Imo North in the upcoming 2027 elections, has officially established a 13-member campaign organization to spearhead his electoral efforts. The announcement was made during a meeting of key stakeholders from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) held at his residence in Anara, Owerri.

In a statement released by the Director of Media and Publicity for the campaign organization, Comrade Lancelot Obiaku, the team is set to mobilize support and strategize for the forthcoming elections. Hon. Ben Duru, a former chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council in Imo State and a previous governorship candidate, has been appointed as the Director-General of the campaign.

The campaign organization will be chaired by Hon. Emeka Ubenwunne, the Okigwe Zonal Chairman of the PDP, while Dr. Emmanuel Chukwu takes on the role of Director of Strategic Operations. Comrade Lancelot Obiaku himself will serve as the Director of Media and Publicity. Other notable appointments include Lady Clara Ugha as Zonal Women Coordinator and Comrade Ugochukwu Izuchukwu as Zonal Youth Coordinator, alongside Hon. David Nwosu, who will act as Secretary.

Ejiogu emphasized that these appointments are just the beginning of a broader strategy aimed at creating a robust campaign front. He highlighted the importance of unity, collaboration, and the integrity of the appointed members, urging them to commit their skills and resources to ensure the party's success in the elections.

During the meeting, Hon. Mike Ahumibe, the South-East Zonal Secretary of the PDP, encouraged the leaders of Okigwe to embrace hard work and sincerity as essential elements for achieving victory. He expressed optimism about the PDP's prospects in the senatorial zone, asserting that the party's candidates enjoy significant support from the electorate.

Barr. Ikenna Emeruem, the PDP candidate for the Ehime Mbano/Obowo/Ihitte-Uboma Federal Constituency, also spoke at the gathering, assuring party leaders of the campaign team's commitment to reaching every corner of Okigwe Zone with their message of transformation and development.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Ben Duru expressed gratitude to Chief Ejiogu and the party leaders for their trust in him and the campaign team. The meeting saw a strong turnout of PDP stakeholders, including candidates for the House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly, all united in their goal to secure a victory for the party in the upcoming elections.
