Lilian Adoyi-Ofiebor leaves ADC, joins PDP for Otukpo/Ohimini race
Lilian Adoyi-Ofiebor has switched allegiance from ADC to PDP, citing alignment with PDP values.

Lilian Adoyi-Ofiebor, a prominent figure in the Benue State political landscape and former aspirant for the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This significant political shift was announced on Monday, marking a pivotal moment in her political career.
In her statement, Adoyi-Ofiebor articulated that her decision was the result of extensive reflection on the current political dynamics within her constituency. She expressed her belief that the PDP’s core values, particularly its grassroots orientation and commitment to the integrity of the electoral process, resonate with her own principles regarding governance and representation.
Highlighting her dedication to democratic ideals, Adoyi-Ofiebor referenced Article 21 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Abraham Lincoln’s famous definition of democracy. She emphasized that the will of the people should be the foundation of all political ambitions, reinforcing her commitment to serving the constituents of Otukpo and Ohimini.
Adoyi-Ofiebor also reaffirmed her support for the existing zoning arrangement between the two local government areas, which she described as a vital agreement promoting fairness and unity. She firmly stated that it is now the turn of Ohimini Local Government Area to provide the next representative for the Federal House of Representatives.
“My aspiration is not about personal ambition, but about equity, inclusion and purposeful leadership that ensures every community in the constituency is seen, heard and feels valued,” she declared, outlining her vision for a more inclusive political environment.
This move to the PDP comes at a crucial time as the political landscape in Benue continues to evolve ahead of the upcoming elections. Adoyi-Ofiebor’s transition is expected to influence the dynamics of the race for the Otukpo/Ohimini seat, as she brings with her a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to the principles she champions. Her alignment with the PDP may also attract additional support from constituents who share her vision for a more equitable representation in government.
