The retraction follows intense public backlash over his initial comments. Read here.
In a new video, Chukwu clarified that his outburst was a personal reaction and did not reflect the official stance of the Edo State Government. He had previously accused Davido of insulting the governor and his children, declaring the singer persona non grata.
Facing severe criticism, Chukwu issued a three-way apology to the governor, the public, and Davido. He formally retracted the performance ban, noting that the singer is welcome in Edo State, which is also the birthplace of Davido's late mother.
